Qld: Govt to discuss struggling Hendra virus vet clinic

Primary Industries Minister TIM MULHERIN today will meet the owner of a Brisbane veterinary
practice infected by the Hendra virus .. to discuss ways it can avoid closing.

Mr MULHERIN says the state government has forged a close working relationship with
the Redlands Veterinary Clinic .. since the outbreak last month.

Owner DAVID LOVELL says the clinic is losing about 50-thousand dollars a week .. and
he needs urgent help from the government to stay open.

Two staff members .. infected with the Hendra virus .. are in hospital.
